Draw every link in the chain
Write the sequence before adding minutes: apartment door, lift, lobby, public street, boarding point, waiting, ride, transfer and final walk. Include a school or care stop if it belongs to your normal morning; do not hide it outside the calculation.
For each link, mark whether you have a published fact, a map estimate or an unanswered question. Keep estimates visibly separate from measured journeys. A route with fewer unknown links may be easier to investigate, even if its headline distance is longer.
Find the exact stop and direction
VinBus's operator network lists E05 through Long Biên, Cầu Giấy and Smart City, and E03 through Mỹ Đình (Hàm Nghi), Thái Hà and Ocean Park. Those route names help identify candidates, not a stop outside your building.
Open the operator's current route information and confirm the boarding stop, direction, alighting stop and connection. Ask which public entrance leads there. Do not assume the opposite-direction stop is directly across the road or reachable by the same walk.
Check whether the service matches the journey
A property advertisement saying 'near metro' leaves several questions open: which operating station, which entrance and what connection from the building? Test the advertised route against the actual destination rather than a convenient central landmark.
Record where current service information must be checked, including first and last departures and transfer arrangements. Leave these fields unfilled if the operator source does not resolve them. An unconfirmed timetable is not a reason to invent a reassuring arrival time.
Plan the return journey as carefully
Start the return plan at your realistic leaving time, not at the end of a standard office day you rarely follow. A late meeting, groceries or a family pickup may require a different route or payment arrangement.
List one backup that you could actually use, then investigate its availability and cost. Treat those as questions until checked. The household discussion should include who handles a missed connection and whether the resulting evening still feels manageable.
Use a route card before making a trial
Fill one row per leg: start ___; end ___; stop and direction ___; source and checked date ___; estimated or measured ___; shelter, steps or crossing question ___; unresolved item ___. Include any stroller, mobility or luggage needs without assuming accessibility.
Compare Smart City and Ocean Park using identical destinations and obligations. Note the nearest verified public access, not just the development's name. Once the route is coherent, use the separate commute diary to test representative journeys safely; the plan itself remains untested.

Can I use a map's travel time as the total?
Keep it as an estimate and inspect its start point, departure time and included legs. Add unresolved access rather than silently assuming the map covers it.
Does a route through Smart City serve every tower equally?
The network listing does not answer that. Identify your tower's usable entrance and the exact stop before comparing access.
